Looking for music event poster designers, Eastcheap Records approached Friedbanana to create an event poster. The poster design would need to be a printed poster and a social media banner designed in square format.

To this end, I felt a retro eighties scrapbook feel approach was needed! In addition, a Retro-esque font was adapted and edited. This enforced a night of power ballads & hair rock performed by the band ‘Permageddon’.

Music event poster designers and social media designers now days need to reshape their poster designs. Fitting and adapting to social media image size requirements is the norm. Elements of the portrait rectangle poster were re-positioned inside a square 1:1 shape, for instance.

As a live music event, the poster and copy text needed to be catchy. “We’ve got the ultimate night of power ballads and hair rock performed live by Permageddon. Strap on the air guitar and squeeze into those spandex! We’re about to rock your little socks off.”

Hair bands like Poison, Mötley Crüe, and Bon Jovi were all topping the charts with their catchy hooks and heavy makeup.
